It uses the GPS in the phone to display on the screen.
It's normally less than $500
You can also run a lot of you normal apps onto the screen of the unit witch comes...

Cleaning the underside of the WRX
There are some car wash places that have drive on ramps to let you clean under the car with the high pressure hose. Take some degreaser or preferred cleaner and it's the normal cost $1 for 2 minutes...
