PLE computers - www.ple.com.au
Netplus - www.netplus.com.au

Both places should have them, if not in stock, they should be able to get them in for you. If your looking to get a 8800GTX or 9800GTX, i would recommend checking out the ATi HD 4850 first. Its the ATi equivalent to Nvidia's 9800GTX but beats it in almost all tests.

Heres the review that got me interested in the 4850 over the 9800GTX (8800GTX - 9800GTX, basically same same). Even performed better than the Geforce 260 GTX in some tests!

Worth a read.

Overall the more comprehensive benchmarks at TomsHardware put the 9800gtx slightly ahead of the 4850.

Price wise though the 4850 is better value at $239 compared to the 9800gtx+ $269.

Well it's been a long time coming, but ATi are back! Whilst ATi have always been more focussed towards bang for buck, they seemed to neglect the former. The new HD48XX series have really given the nVidia cards a run for their money. Currently nVidia's price equivalent is the 8800GT, which gets it's PCB handed to it by the 4850. Current benchmarks put the HD4850 infront or equal with the 9800GTX in 90% of cases. It's possible this section gets revised once the 9800GTX+ is out and becomes the HD4850's competition.
Where: Staticice http://www.staticice.com.au/cgi-bin/search.cgi?q=hd4850
Price: $215
go with the ATI Cheaper and Better

I think he already has a 8800GTX and wants to SLI them.

Thats maybe why he is looking at a 8800GTX specifically.

I see quite a few people on OCAU selling their "old" 8800GTX cards for as low as $190 second hand. If you're interested, let me know because you need to be registered on their forum for three months before you can view the trading post, I have a valid account and can hook you up

It's very tempting to grab a couple for myself to replace my SLI as well...

I have 2 BFG 8800Gt's in SLI....
Overclocked to: Core 703 mhz, Mem 1ghz(2ghz ddr), shader 1700mhz
Cards run @ 52c......Not even breaking a sweat!

Runs Crysis in 1920 x 1080p (50" Plazma) @ solid 45 fps with everything maxed out..... Best bang for buck Nvidia cards imho.

I have the XFX780i mobo that's 3 way SLI capable.... E8600 @ 4.3 ghz with water cooling on the cpu, north bridge, southbridge.

I've been looking for an excuse to enter into the triple SLI world......If you're interested make me an offer. Happy to show you the cards running and can help you get SLI up and running (if required).

I can see 3 x 260+'s coming my way soon.
