I have a spare 2 way centre, comes with a 4.11 r160 housing

I have only limited understanding about drive ratios and such...
But can the centre from that diff be swapped into my 3.54 housing? |

Yes it can. As long as they are both R160's.

do you really want a 2 way centre?
you state that you only limited understanding about drive ratios and such... better off with a 1 or at worst 1.5 way.

agreed, 2way if you want to consign the car to light on-road duties and track days only.
its another step towards making a car less daily.

I understand the difference between the centres. Just unsure of compatibility and such.
I'm hoping the 2-way will provide a more 'predictable' back end. And coupled with a DCCD centre, could be a bit of fun! I have a dedicated GX Liberty for daily duties now, so I thought, why not! Already have the rest of the package...and I avoid driving the WRX on the road to keep tread on the AD08s for events... Running 3 degree camber in the front now. |

i used to have a 2 way in my forester with 5spd dccd, was awesome fun & very predictable, sold the diff to alex, here's a vid of it in his car but running a 6spd dccd gearbox, i think you'll like it

oh and don't forget you'll need the early rear driveshafts to match
