You were not wrong about the high temperature of the top tank on the aluminium radiator. Farken burnt myself on it. What shroud do you have which works best with the Mishi?

We did have to trim the supplied Mishimoto hoses, to fit the radiator to stop them fouling.

Turbo beanie & downpipe blanket went on pretty nicely.

Notice the difference with the stronger pitch stopper as well. Nice little mod that one.

Pretty happy with where this street car is at currently.

Thanks mate.

I am somewhat interested with the idea of (eventually, maybe) getting into a worked heave-ho 9 which is somewhat tempting, but it would be hard to let go of this.

Don't want to drive one incase I prefer it over what I have built this up to be. I know ultimately that the Evo's motor is a stronger base platform which will make better, and easier power.

Tend to agree here. This is one of the key things i know I will miss. Evo motor is so much easier to withdraw power from.

Anyway.

Will the mods ever end.

- Grimmspeed Catless Up-Pipe, Ceramic Coated (OEM catted one currently)
- Grimmspeed EBCS
- DEI Wrap
- DEI Ties

Took me a bit to choose the Grimmspeed pipe, but settled on it for a few reasons. The quality is nice.

As part of this install I will be having the the manifold off and will be replacing all the rubber fuel lines with Aereoflow AN-6 teflon lines. For some time now I have had a very small fuel leak when the car is cold started and the fuel pump is at 100% duty cycle.

Definitely notice this in the colder weather. Have to put the air to recycle to avoid the smell in the cabin now.

And a re-tune after this. Not sure on gains? Dropping the cat pre-turbo has to be a good for flow. Surprised I had not sucked it into the turbo by now.

Cheers

Grimmspeed is a brilliant quality item.

Doubt there would be many gains from the up-pipe. Boost curve and toque will be smoother due to the upgraded 3 port, maybe squeeze a few ponies extra and torques.

Yeah not expecting anything massive. This was more of a safety thing, but also reap the whatever the performance gains are. The cat in the OEM MY01 up-pipe is small but restrictive. Expecting some earlier spool with the EBCS and a tune.

Another reason I chose the Grimmspeed pipe as it has the following ID specifications: 1.865" ID @ the header end, 1.755 at the turbo end.

This is conducive to velocity and thus spool (in theory, anyway.)

If you were to believe anything from MRT, I doubt there would be 20awkw in it!! Maybe from stock untuned, going to tuned. Hard to understand the context of those comments.

Not exactly sure what the plan is with this yet, but later down the line, e85. Who ever knows if that will happen or not. I had not planned on it so soon, but I got it for an absolute steal. Has the knock board on it as well, so don't know if that is of any use to me or not.

It's booked in @ ASG, and for now I think I will just drop a new BP98 tune on it, perhaps launch control and antilag.

Lol @ BP98 tune.

Join the corn train Rich.

It's spectacular.

Antilag, rotational idle and launch control should be standard as long as the Pope is still catholic.
