Its where you unbolt the rear pivot on the back of the arm and rotate it 180 degrees and re-bolt it down. The rear pivot is offset so rotating it causes the rear of the arm to move outward, which means the hub is placed further forward increasing the angle of the strut for more castor. You can take it a step further by adding spacing plates between the rear pivot and the arm to increase castor some more.

A pretty much cost free way of adding more castor to your car. without the need for castor strut tops. Although it is a fairly small increase, every little bit helps. Because of this, my front wheel as moved forward around 7-8mm. Slight increase in wheel base helps with weight distribution too I suppose.

I did the castor mod and also added a 3mm spacer in. Going in for an alignment at wheels world this Tuesday.

Very nice, I had a 1989 Legacy GT Wagon. Brings me back to the good old days.

Awesome car mate.

Update.

On the 5th on June I got rear ended on the Graham Farmer Fwy. Yes it was a young asian female. YAY for reinforcing stereotypes .

It happened literally 30mins after doing a 6 speed DCCD upgrade. I was planning to go to a Perth-EVO cruise and dish some chop. . So that plan was ruined.

Anyway. Got it back finally today from Flecters Malaga Smash Repairs. Top job they did.

While it was being repaired, the cannon rear muffler was removed for a twin 3 inch tip MagnaFlow. A bit quieter on cruise. Just as loud when you mash it. But the twin tip look is awesome for the sleeper effect. looks almost OEM.

So, new mods are:

My05 Spec C RA DCCD 6 speed gearbox. Includes an upgrade from the old Suretrac front LSD to a Torsen Helical.
Spiider Manual DCCD Controller
Changed the ECU out for a MINES Tune ECU.
Got rid of the Boost Cut lifter
Magnaflow 3" Twin Tip rear Muffler
40mm Twin Core All Alloy Radiator

How much, if you dont mind me asking was the twin tip magnaflow muffler? Im over my cannon and would like one, just from the last flange backwards.

I have no idea how much they are new because I bought it off ebay over 18months ago .

I never got around to fitting it so I took the opportunity to get it done when the car was in for repairs. I paid $250 for it though.

Update. New Toys went on since the last update

SARD Fuel pressure regulator remote mounted near the filter while retaining the OEM Serial fuel rails.
3.9 R180 Plated 2 way LSD
GC8 R180 shafts
GDB R180 Hubs
GDB STI rear Subframe - solid metal mounts and better roll center
Whiteline Plus Rear Diff mount to suit GDB rear subframe
04 STI Brembos front and rear - Painted gloss black - sleeper stylz
Brand New RDA Rotors
Brand New QFM A1RM pads
STI motorsports V5/6 400mm pink rear lateral arms with pilo bearing bushes and spherical sway bar links.
Asian Tim Spec Trailing arm bushes
Agency Power billet alloy engine pitch mount
Perrin 6 speed shifter bushes
Hypertec rear strut brace
Glowshift 60mm electronic boost gauge.
Silver 04 STI 17s with Pirelli Dragon 235/40 R17
WORK CR Kai 17x8 in Bronze with Advan A048 R-Comp 245/40 R17

Got rid of the Rear subframe lock down kit. Not needed as the STI rear subframe already has solid metal mounts. Also got rid of the china boost gauge and AFR gauge in favour of one glowshift 60mm electronic boost gauge.
Also, those STI pilo ball bushed rear arms are one of the best handling mods I have ever done. Rear end is no longer skittish and vague. Now the whole car is more responsive and controllable. Yet, even with pilo bearings and spherical links, it makes no more NVH than before. HIGHLY recommend this mod.

I finally washed my car and did my best to cut and polish the fading and flaking paintwork. Unfortunately, you can only do so much with a turd. This is the best it will ever look until I get a full respray.

What a great sleeper, i love it. The black brembos look cool too, dont attract much attention towards the wheel area...
