I've given up setting timelines, but it isn't too far off.

Considering it has been off the road for almost 3 years, it will be getting some Kms put on it...if that was a hint at it being a hard parker.

Progress!

Paul has been kind enough to lend MMS his time and expertise and has been dedicated to the car for the last 2 weeks or so. A lot of custom work had to be done as a flow on effect from flipping the manifold, moving the alternator and making an adjustable pulley system etc

Bonnet has been chopped so the manifold doesn't foul on it and where the v-mount sits has been reinforced after it was chopped and modified to enable us to move the v mount forward and gain some clearance for the pipe to the turbo.

We have blanked off the exit on the left hand side of the cooler (as you look at the engine bay) and moved it the back to eliminate sharp bends in the pipework to the manifold to try and make it as efficient as possible.

pics:

Reverse manifold, pipework, v-mount etc

Turbo, exhaust manifold, metal intake pipe which sits in the guard

external gate, headers, turbo (note: one thermo fan removed simply because there wasn't enough space with the pipe running from the intercooler down to the turbo)

Last shot shows just how tight it all is

So, the major mucking around is now behind us and next week they're going to concentrate on dressing up the engine and tidying everything up. BOV is going to sit on the reverse side of the inlet pipe to the manifold and will vent to atmosphere (YOLO). Exhaust is fabbed up and on the car, from dump to diff is an MMS custom jobbie and the diff back is something they had laying around. Oil filter is going to be relocated due to space constraints and the fact that the factory position us now surrounded by a shitload of hot parts. Final hurdle is probably going to be sorting out the scavenge pump to drain the oil from the turbo, apart from that it SHOULD be relatively smooth sailing.

I may have been dreaming, but I'm pretty sure Rob said that it may be running by the end of next week
