Yes once my mechanic worked out what it was he had 3 other WRX's booked in for the next week to have them taken out.

Cost me 500 pennies to get the stupid thing removed but at least my car starts when I bloody want it to.

Its embaressing driving a WRX and it dying on you with a bloody commo driver pulling the finger on his way past...

Yeah mate, it was the Brant control module. There was a diode in there that was clearly burned out - No problems ever since it was removed!

My08+ dont use the brant system, it is more reliable, but alot harder to use i feel

They didn't mind at all actually, did nothing to my premiums. Didn't note the fact that it had a Brant system in the first place. Didn't want to know!
