At this point in time the plan to return to stock is only for the short term.

There have been a number of issues with the Koni setup that have not been successfully resolved and are begin to cause frustration and removing the joy of driving the car.
I'm weighing up my options at the moment to see what is the best way forward.

At one point I did say that I wouldn't want to run another set of coilovers on the car, however I've recently been introduced to the MCA Red series and I'm seriously thinking about getting them in either 7/6 or 6/6.

I agree.

The spring rates that I have on the car (6kg/mm or 330lb/in) suits my requirements quite well.
A slight increase on the spring rates at the front, isn't going to be too much of a dilemma for me.

Silly question time.

Would STi pinks on standard struts not be close enough to what you want or is the infinite setup capability of coikovers what you seek?

From my research I don't believe they come in the spring rate and drop that I'm after.
A drop of 15 to 20mm is ideal for me as I like to clear curbs and not getting stuck getting in or out of driveways.

The push back to coilovers is due to the lack of aftermarket suspension components for the third gen wrx.

To date there are only a handful of options for replacement struts (Koni, GTWorx, OEM, Tokico is apparently bringing something out at the end of the year) that I have stumbled across.

Having owned a set of coilovers in this car before, I'm well aware of what adjustments are available and what adjustments I am most likely to change or benefit from directly.

Whilst I may not ultimately need them to the extent that some of the members here may, they are the more abundant aftermarket item that will allow me to get what I want out of my car.

Just a headsup, MCA is manufactured by STD for them, it might be cheaper to buy from Mao and get 18 month warranty. Below is a quote from Facebook:

Update: MCA Coilovers have been officially made by STD suspension for some time now but in a different color. STD coilovers R3 and R5s are also known as MCA Reds while the STD R1s are MCA blues. STD ENRs are the MCA gold series.

Firstly I have no interest in Mao and his services and secondly, assuming that MCA are indeed manufactured by STD, why would I go for STD and get a warranty period that is 6 months less than getting MCA directly
