Agree with the rest of the options, HSD coilovers, ALK, China exhaust from ebay ($600), late model STI topmount, VF34 and PowerFC, decent alignment and tune and you will not be able to recognise the car.

Thanks jester.... Username has changed......
But yes whiteline can be had for cheaper.

Yeah you don't need the cusco units.

I have them as I got them cheap and I feel they are a higher quality unit over the last whitelines I had. Just my personal opinion.

PowerFC Looks mad - had a quick squizz on ebay and most are about $1,200 Second Hand.

When it says its for a WRX, or an Evo, does that mean that the units connection is specific to the wiring looms for the car, or are they all standardised but that particular PowerFC has been tuned for an Evo already.

Whiteline was probably what I would be getting, CUSCO is brilliant stuff but I really cant justify the money.

You need a specific PowerFC for your car... And it needs to be for your model car.

I.e. There are multiple WRX versions and you need the one specifically for 99/00.

Yup - Roger that. So its pretty much, have to keep an eye out until a Version 5/6 (99-00) one comes up for sale and then grab it asap.

Just looking on Whitelines Site, theres quite a few things for the cars isnt there!

Im guessing its the 22 and 24mm Sways, the Braces for Lower Arms, the Anti Lifts, and the Lateral Locks.

Do I need the 22mm and 24mm mounts aswell? (Im assuming so but.. yeah I dont have a clue haha).

Just get the 22F 24R sways and maybe the HD sway bar links.

You don't need anything else yet, as they are all 2% improvement items. i.e. putting in the pineapples to lock the rear diff cradle are great, but the added NVH makes it a less enjoyable street car etc etc etc.

Once you start pushing it and want some extra alignment flexability, then get the other items. Until then, sways + coils are the best things you can do.

Anti lift doesn't actually stop the front end from lifting like most people think. It just gives you an extra degree of castor.

22F and 24R is a great combo

sway bars are the biggest upgrade on the suspension you can do.

However i went the opposite 24F 22R the reason behind it is most of my weight is in the front.
Both sway bars are set on medium, I get no rear tyre lift at all
If you look at most race cars they all have a bigger sway bar in the front than the rear

Coils as in Coil Overs right? Any particularly good brand of these that I should be looking at?

Damo from STechnic was saying to me the other week that coilovers aren't the be-all and end-all. You can get very similar results from the right spring + dampener set up. I'm pretty sure he doesn't run coils in his own car... neither the rally car.

It could save some money.

Just throwing it out there for discussion.
