Sell the rims and get something tougher, if you're on the cheap get a set of wide/low offset rotas with appropriate dumpage now you've got coilovers. Will look the goods, and even better if you ever do a brake upgrade.

+1 to this, not from the engine longevity point of view though.
Power enhancements can come later on, once the ground work has been done (i.e. braking and handling)

^^^ Again like those above, if you can get round a corner faster, thats the big gain, better brakes, stop later, better handling, more carry speed in the corner, go with this first.

More power, great to get you going in a straight line, but you'll loose out at the first bend, think of drag cars vs F1 cars, and as we don't have that sort of budget (most of us don't) Falcadores vs WRX's.

Love the twisty stuff.

(BTW we also have a V8 ute , so I'm not a hater of the Falcadores)

Straight roads are for fast cars, twisty roads are for fast drivers. I have or am neither.

He's bringing me back a hot Swedish chick.

Aren't you Cam.

But Cam, I agree with handling over power mods first, so also budget on another set of wheels and some grippy (r-comp) tyres for track work. I notice you haven't listed any competition tyres in your to-do list and they make a real difference.

Sorry guys - I hadnt exactly laid out an order for which the plan is going - simply had crossed off on my to do list.

My only concern as to why I might second think the handling upgrades was to do with it being my Daily.

Im worried that further stiffening would make it very unbearable. The coils, while you can feel a MASSIVE difference in every aspect of manouvering the car, theres no doubt that you get thrown around a bit.

But, if it really doesnt do too much to the straight line feel (so to speak) then I cant see why I wouldnt do that first.

My ECU is a big thing for me now - These AFM's are shitting me off. Im back where I was before with Fuel Economy and backfiring, I want to get rid of it and work out what condition my Motor is really in, and how it is running.

ALEX, Im not keen at all in RComps at this stage. No budget, and Im not anywhere near serious enough.

I would say, at next tyre change, I will upgrade to 17 or 18 inch for daily, and then keep 16s for RComps.

If you're considering changing the ECU, have you looked at the ViPEC?? I'm running the V44 plug in ECU in my MY99, and it has alot of features (as standard, anti lag, launch control etc.) and it deletes the AFM. I have never had an issue with it and have been running it for over a year now, and they're not all that expensive. Just a thought

Im guessing the main reason he's going the G4 is because Stechnic has relations to Leigh from former RMS who is WAs Link ecu agent and David will highly recommend it and will get Leigh down to tune it as well. So choosing tuner before ecu is probably the smart thing to do imo.
