Weddings and associated bs are an amazing example of marketing creating a demand where none would reasonably exist otherwise. Promise end rant /

Besides that, is double clutching in any way recommend for a 5 speed?
I double clutch on spirited down shifts.
Clutch in - neutral - clutch out - rev to bring up rpm - clutch in - shift down - clutch out
It seems to work well to prevent excessive engine breaking but have I got it right?
I've tried my idea of heel/toe but no where near competent enough to master atm especially on public roads.

I think you missed my point with that meme about granny shift/double clutch. I said if you drive like they do on fast n furious, you WILL mash a 5spd.

Drive a 5spd and want it to last? Shift it like a granny

And with the wedding money thing. While i personnally wouldnt drop mad coin on a wedding myself, i can understand why people would. It would be a bit hypocritical for me to drop cash on something i love (my car) but expect a wife/fiancé to not beable to do the same for something she loves. (Weddings/shoes/jewelry)

I always expected my 5spd to go pretty quickly, but here I am still on the first one. I seriously gave little of a fuck when shifting at the strip wanting a 12 pass and it's still ok. Didn't have all that much regard for it at racewars either. Or at the 6 or so track days it did.

Same thing can be said for the engine too really.

Craig will be fine, a lack of hectic 6k launches from lights and sick bruh power shifts should see it last a fair while yet.

We're budgeting no more than 25-30k and 50-60 people. Louise won't step foot in a church, so it was a venue or bust. We wanted one location for everything - ceremony, photos, reception. Saves people driving around and a huge boring gap while we have our photos taken. Food/drink/venue and the photographer will be the most costly things...

We're getting married at Millbrook Winery in Jarrahdale, October 8, 2018. The purple Wysteria only flowers for 2 weeks in the year so we're crossing our fingers we've timed it well (they normally flower in the first two weeks or October but weather can f#@k that up).

A nice spot indeed, but there is one nasty road on the way in that isn't lowered car friendly

I will be looking into getting a bus from Burswood to pick people up who wish to drink. Just jump on that

Soksta - good thing you drive a Forester then
Not that my car is lowered, but I do have the lip and skirts and I didn't have any problems getting in there, taking it easy.

Granted, I bought my ex a shit load of jewellery from Dubai over the years.
So another great example of marketing creating a demand for something intrinsically worthless- nothing more than a bunch of shiny stones.

Anyway all the best Trolley,

I certainly understand the don't drive like Vinny D approach to 5 speed preservation.

when I was in the army we had to double clutch the land rovers every gear change,
so got me wondering if the gearbox smashers here had any recommend techniques for longer 5 speed preservation.
