^^ If you want that look, go buy the Spec C / S203 / S204 center console parts from japanparts. I did this on my old MY05.

And rotate your 6 speed gear knob 90 degrees...

It's a few hundred though

Plastidip will be less than $50, and if it looks crap, i'll just peel it off

Hey guys, just wondering if you think the following amount of 'stretch' is too extreme?

They are 225/40 on a 9.5" wide rim. Of course I would rather have 255/35, but with the amount of tread left on my current tires, it's hard to justify getting rid of them if they could fit my new rims.

It's .5" outside of it's recommended range.

Not keen on the hellaretarded look

I doubt you'd ever get 255's to fit in GD guards without a lot of work.

I've never been a huge fan of the stretched look - but if you're going to do it, do it properly

Would 245s be ideal? Keep in mind i don't need to clear brembos, so the rims won't have a low offset. Think +35 to +40ish.

In all honesty, why would you change the wheels you have now? You dont want the "hellaretarded" look but wanna stretch 225's over a 9.5" rim? You are a walking contradiction.

Since I already have the 225s, I wouldn't need to buy new tires for the new rims.

Just trying to cut down on unnecessary cost.

However, if it does mean a high sacrifice in terms of handling and driveability, I would obviously purchase some new tyres.

Of course it will have an effect on handling - you are losing a large portion of your sidewall flex. Make it easier to scuff and kerb your rim.

You may not want to hear it, but you are taking a backward step getting these 9.5" wide rims for your car IMO.
