Just read the entire thread, awesome stuff. I think this is what Pwrx is all about, this is the kinda stuff I log on to read.
True motor enthusiast you are Simon and co, top job. Can't wait to see this thing in action (at collie?) and have a good look over all the changes made. |

Update time.
So, today was the first real try at getting the new motor going. I must admit I was a little apprehensive on running the Injector dynamics 2000cc injectors, but it idles like a dream. It idles at 950 - 1000 rpm with a AFR when hot of 14.7 no worries. Once I got the idle right, Geoff jumped in the drivers seat & I set about tuning the map up to 4500 rpm, where I have the limiter set due to running the motor in. It all went very smooth & I can honestly say I am amazed at how well these injectors work at such a low duty cycle. Fuel pressure is set at 43 psi at idle too, so I am not cheating there. In Geoff's exact words when driving in a car park "your car drives around like a standard car, with mine, its all like is it gonna stall,so I try to heel toe to keep it running when driving slow". This is quite a funny statement considering it has such large injectors & a twin plate UN sprung clutch in it Paul had to fabricate a few parts to get a few things to match up, like the IACV, deleting the AVCS off the heads & getting the cam sensor to fit, which he did a great job with. First impression are that this is going to be a real monster. The engine will still be tight obviously, from being rebuilt, but it drives great. I have given it little slight acceleration blips tonight when driving & boost seems to come on quicker than the old TD05 16G, which I am really happy about. The engine also feels much stronger / beefier when driving, compared to the old motor. Its on the dyno at Evolution R on Monday, so I have to try and get a few K's on it before then A huge thanks to Paul & Geoff for helping out so much with everything & suppling parts. Neil "Batman Suit" for all your help & donated parts, Mao & Warick & Evolution R, for your ongoing relentless support & knowledge base & last but not least, Matt from Auto Pro Canning Valve, for all your help & support with the build & all the sensational parts I got from you for great prices ID 2000 injectors Idle control Stock location Kinugawa TD06 60-1 Engine bay Engine bay YouTube clip of the car running this arvo. Note the engine temp & how well it returns to idle from revving up. Once again, a huge thanks to everyone involved, I couldn't have done it without you. Really looking forward to seeing what this things puts out, power wise, on Monday. Gauges.
