Fark you Russ. Looks like the dash is coming back out. Anyone know costs and where to get it done that does a good job?

Ok more of an update.

Whilst I was away at work, Ray got the short motor together. We were at the stage of bolting the heads on and torquing them up yesterday morning. Hopefully today should see the motor in the car hopefully.

I wasn't going to put a larger turbo on just yet, but we found a new GT35R & I got talked into to putting it on the car sooner rather than later. We are going to make the complete rotated mount kit ourselves, as kits are not really readily available at non crack prices. At the moment it has a 1.06 rear housing on it, which is just silly for a 2.2, so we have a .82 rear to put on it which, should see boost coming on at around 12,500 rpm. Hitting max boot hopefully by around friday next week.

On a more serious note, lots of work to be done before I go back to work on Wednesday, as when I come back next time, I am supposedly racing in Albany

Pictures tell the story

So I will be keeping the manually adjustable gears on the exhaust, whilst utilising the AVCS on the inlet. I can get around 25 degrees of cam advance on the inlet, before piston / valve clearances start to become an issue.

Valve clearances were checked with plasticine & a set of old Cometic gaskets. Now the heads are bolted down with the new Cosworth gaskets & not coming back off, we got the camera out & double checked the clearances again going through the spark plug hole.

I need to take a ride to see Banger today at JWS to get some sensors & a timing belt cover to suit the AVCS wheel as the drivers side one is the wrong one.

I decided to give this inlet manifold a try, due to it having a larger plenum, which will hopefully help with torque a little down low & peak HP numbers up top. I am retaining my Bosch 2200cc injectors & we gave them a quick overhaul yesterday too. Ultrasonic clean, flow test & new seals & filter baskets.

Turbo.

Dialling in the cams, as per the Kelford specs.

The boffins working out what the big blue wheel does.

Lots more to do today. I shall take more photos & update the progress later.
