That's the problem right there Russ, the mic socket is on the side.
Simon only knows to look for holes on the back.

Build pics as of what we did yesterday. Shitty Iphone pics are shitty....
THE entire rotating assembly has now been balanced and weighted to ensure we can rev the shit out of the engine, whilst not getting any unwanted vibrations. Checking everything on the block after the machining. We also did a bit of porting work in oil galleries just to allow the oil to flow around the block & return back to the sump easier. Cleaning the crank. When the crank was away to be balanced we were told that they had to remove a fair amount from the crank to get it to balance up. I was amazed how much they actually did remove. Oh yeah, this was a $1400 crank from a very reputable company. I was told by Performancemods, if I had installed this crank without balancing everything, damage would have been done, very eary on in the running in of the engine. I cant believe how much measuring we did yesterday. Working out everything to such small tolerances, but making sure everything was 100% spot on. Measure, calculate, measure some more, calculate some more, build in the engine builders experience, adjust, repeat..... Fark, to many numbers..... Checking some clearances on the crank, bearings & block. Checking end float of the crank. Big end sizing, to ensure correct clearances on the crank. The Manley stroker pistons. They look really good & they came with good pins & rings which is a huge bonus. & these are the 14mm head studs in comparison to standard sized studs Crank, big ends & rods assembled Finally gapping the rings to allow high boost. This is to ensure we minimise blow by as much as possible, but still allow enough clearance for growth of everything when its being leant on hard at the track. Take some out of the ring to get the correct clearance Perfect. More to come later once I get some seals sorted for the block.
