Off topic but is Geoff running a stroker too as he was in a different class at last Rallysprint or was that a mistake?

Love of the rush associated to doing silly speeds in a straight line & even stupider speeds around corners. I need, no actually want more power, but dont like all the bad vibes around the 2.5. 2.1 / 2.2 is a proven combo & shown to be reliable when built correctly, as you have already mentioned Rob H is proof of this.

Robbies car is a 2.5, but it has extensive head work & a very strong bottom end. The car has unfortunaely been plauged with little niggly issues over the last 3 months, but we have now finally got it all sorted. It had fueling issues as 1 X 044 was not enough to get enough E85 to the injectors, for the HP he wanted. Then it had an air temp sensor issue, which was an absolute nightmare to fault find, but last Saturday we got there & now it's all good.

Its booked back in at the dyno on Wed so we should get to numbers back to around 420 hp & 500 nm & then we are taking it down to the twighlight SES on the 23rd at Barbs to both give it a good leaning on. It should be fun.

Geoff has a 2.5, very similar in build specs to Robbie's, but it has a slightly smaller turbo. In regards to class, I 'm really not sure.

You should enter the Twighlight SES, its only short track @ Barbs, but there is definiately a different buzz to a no limits night. Open wheelers & proper race cars which are there I guess makes it so different.

I doubt 1.4bar is enough to worry OEM head bolts, let alone ARP head studs. What sort of gaskets did you have in the car?

If you're doing Busselton, I hope your breaks work!

I had cometic gaskets. From what I could see, the black paint on the face of the gasket had been washed away & the exact same mating face on the block was also clean.

My brakes are fine. Cheers for the concern

Fair enough. I think I remember reading an article on how Cometic use to, or still do make the Cossy gaskets?

I got a bit more done on the engine now & I am pretty sure that assembly will be happening in the next week or so. This means unfortunately that the waghoon will not be going around Busso this year , but its better to do it right, take our time & make sure that its spot on.

Test fitting the stroker pistons for clearance prior to the block getting the block decked & o ringed.

1mm over sized SS inlet & Inconel exhaust valves installed in my heads. Heads skimmed to ensure that the head gasket seals correctly.

Kelfors 272 / 268 cams in, after a bit of messing around with the buckets.

Lots more to come in the next few weeks when we start to put everything together.
