It's all good Simon, I wouldn't be too worried about dyno results (Mine was no Dyno queen either- but it was still a rapid car).

I believe the Spec 'C' heads have the highest power potential for a factory head.

Unless they were flow benched during the porting process, the porting may have reduced that potential, bigger isn't always better when it comes to port/valve sizing. Port velocity & turbulence are the important factors ~ there are some funny resonances that come into play across the RPM range that directly effect power output both positively & negatively.

My research showed the best results were from knife edging the inlet port web & restriction reduction of the dog leg exhaust port only.

I'd be keen to see how your new motor would perform with a VF34/P20 combo to push the graph to the left (earlier torque onset) & increase the width of the usable power band, it would still make ~330hp peak on pump 98.

Cams would extend the power to the right - extending the power peak across to the redline, rather than it dropping quickly after 5800 rpm.

As a comparison, your motor is making the same power at 7k rpm as mine was at 7.7k. Your torque peaks nearly 1K rpm after mine with the vf34/18.

Just sharing an observation there's nothing wrong with your results so far, as long as you are satisfied that's all that matters!

We should all form a circle, hold hands and sing a song.

This thread is great Simon. Where u get all that energy, I do not know.
But it really shows what Perth WRX is all about.

Keep up the good work.

What boost were you running Rossco with your setup?

The guy who ported my heads knows what he is doing, as he has had many a conversation with Tony Knight over east

Rightly said though, I am happy.

mine was at 1.65 bar, a P20 hotside would have seen better results on my setup.

I don't think I want to join in on the circle of jerk. Being roughly 4ft tall, I don't think I'd be comfortable with what was out head height.

But yeah - the car was heaps of fun when we took it for a test drive. We only did skids up to third gear because there was not enough room on the private road to get into fourth!

If a few people want some I'll organise a group buy maybe?
