Why aren't you racing on proper r-comps? IMO maximizing grip should be the #1 priority - you're kind of selling yourself short not using them.

Not only in corner speed but extra braking performance.

Although not sure of the performance value of the RS3.

Guys running them at wtac this year were impressed. They quite liked them. RS-3's are excellent tyres. They are ad08 equivilent.

Compared to an r-comp no. Compared to other high end street tyres, hell yes.

Yeah. They were still putting in good lap times and they were pumping through the tyres all weekend.

How does what they have to run in WTAC compare to running a propper r comp. No chance they will have the grip of even a smaller r comp.

They are "supposed" to be the best street tyre you can get for a racing application Gav. Im looking forward to doing some testing on these & comparing them to my old Federal RSR

I'm not selling myself short. Im not using R Comps because I cant drive well enough yet to necessitate them. I need to learn more about how my car handles first before I go throwing $2500 at a set of tyres. I need to improve my times a couple of seconds on street tyres first I believe, getting my lines right, my braking points bang on.....& the rest of that racing stuff. Then once I feel confident there is no more in it, with the current tyres, I will put a set of R Comps on (Z221) and go and pick up some more time.

Sure I would be able to knock a second, or maybe 2 ,of my lap times by going to R Comps, but I want to see what the size difference of the tyre is going to produce in lap times first. Going from a 225 street tyre, to a 255 street tyre should hopefully yield good results by themselves.
