dont buy a $350 intake. Build one.

Im gonna use a couple of 3inch silicone elbows, a MRP MAF housing. (current one was a stock size XTR brand pipe. A KnN filter. And some off cuts of 3inch alloy tubing (came from a damaged nudge bar in a panel beater scrap metal bin) This is the bits for my CAI mk2.

New filter vs old. this is the biggest 3inch filter KnN make. With an oiled filter, you want to leave a bit of space vetween the filter and the MAF sensor and also not over oil them, and ypu shpuld be fine.

MRP MAF pipe. 3inch ID. approx 70mm ID (11-12% bigger cross sectional area than stock)

Or the Wolf Racing one is half the price of process West and apparently just as good.... Or the build your own one is pretty cool above

Congrats. That is so fitting just before you begin down the slippery slope towards modifying it.

Yes it has ECUTek....the best numbers we got out of it was 216 KW ATW (which by my calculations is a shade under 300HP...ATW)...that was with everything standard except a CAI, UEL headers and exhaust...it also ran a PW surge pot in the rear (underneath). That was a Steve Wisby tune.

Like I said previously, I have some bits that may interest you...eg MMS surge pot with Bosch 044....and if you want to change the ECU, an Autronic (ex MY06)....though personally I would stick with the ECUTek unless you want to chase big power and E85.....

just thought after its previous lives it could do with a new turbo. the existing one is as old as the car and id be kidding myself to think its 100% efficient. honestly i think as its a street car a surge pot would be overkill steve. happy to do turbo pump inj and intake as first stage.. i was considering e85 but realistically thats about 2 years away when ill be in perth.. ill probably just sort it out then.
