got the car back from stechnic. guys did amazing work as usual. even got rid of a few annoying clunks and knocks.. run in went well, engine sounds great and runs smooth. still keeping it off boost and a bit restricted in rpm till retune. do that next oil drop.
happy days

Only 20? Did you go straight 257 or did you go forged?

So.. before the motor went i had the turbo changed and injectors to support. Tune was meant to be done and i called in the arvo. they said they had not finished it as they had problems with the wastegate actuator. Fair enough, i left them to it and next day i call late arvo and get told that its all done and they give me figures what not. Throws codes in 4th about cannot control wastegate/solenoid. recommended drilling or crushing restrictor pill by tuner. as he was unsure i too was unsure and didnt do it. we bypass the solenoid and was fine since. never threw codes again. new motor same setup, still no codes. all happy. mate suggests adjusting actuator to a bit more boost and bring it up to about 18-19 as cant afford spastic money on ecutek retune as the moment. sounds great so we have a tinker. turns out the adjustable actuator is already set to 20psi. and that the solendoid is stuffed. unimpressed..

Who tuned it? Take it up with them.

Why would you fiddle with shit at home on a brand new engine?

The afrs are fine trolley. Its tuned for 20 psi. As i said, had no problems. Still no problems. Well our 'fiddling' removed the problem initially by bypassimg the solenoid and just running wastegate pressure, presumably 1bar. There been no need to 'fiddle' with it since mew motor as its already still running 20 as it had been mechanically adjusted to that by the tuner. I will be having a talk to tuner. Not sure what to expect from them

Boost and tune aside, you're fiddling with shit. Many places tend to wipe their hands of things if the customer fucks with stuff before taking it back (not just cars, anything).
