Anyone has any comments on the whiteline subframe lockdown bolts on a GD STi and also the rear differential lockdown bushing kit?

Did the bolts help with the general drive feel?
Did the rear diff bushings make a huge difference in eliminating driveline slop?

Any feedback on those would be appreciated, was thinking it would get rid of the 'thump' that is sometimes felt between 1st and 2nd gear when launching...

If the bushing adds lots of vibration in other parts, I won't bother as she feels solid under launch conditions already (have stiffer drivetrain group N stuff and don't need more nvh)
... recommended or stay clear of these?

For things like this, I wouldn't bother unless you have it out already. Any difference wouldn't be very noticeable, and swapping out the OEM stuff will only put more stress on your other components.

I added some whiteline/kart boy subframe bushes to mine and didn't notice much apart from more vibration.

Noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH)

You are almost Guaranteed to have one (if not all) of the above per the standard rule in modifying something from OEM. If you can accept the rule, by all means do it. Otherwise if you cannot accept an increase in either state, Keep clear & stick with OEM>

If your talking about the rear subframe locking bolts - they aren't recommended to be left in all the time as they have been known to fatigue the mounting points in the chassis.

They are supposed to be used for track days only.

Yes they increase NVH.

They make the car feel more lively in corners because they stop the subframe being compliant under cornering load.

A better option is going to higher durometer urethane subframe bushes - still an increase in NVH though.

You have grpN bushes etc and now are talking about subframe locking bolts.

What exactly are you trying to achieve?
Are you building a track car, or are you just adding these bits because they sound good?

Serious question.

Serious answer Dave...Not a pure track car but a car that is more than able on the track for some motorkhanas/no limits/sprint series, without being undriveable on public roads.

I had 8.75+20.. It wasn't nice to drive at all. Had to max camber and shit.. Now back to stock offset and I never looked back. If i had the money I'll go for 8.5+38 or +45.. Dont buy something that will fuck up your car.. Thats my opinion btw.. As a lot of people say, it's your car, you can do anything you want with it.. But according to my experience? No no..

Dont bother with the subframe locking kit.
Upgrade sway bars, ALK, decent rubber.

Dude seriously don't launch your car,

And don't do skid pan unless your car is fully set up.

That is unless you want a new clutch and possibly want to go dok dok

It's a pretty fine line between a street and a track setup car. You generally are on or over this line when you enjoy driving a stock ford falcon, or hyundai accents in between.

It's just nice sometimes to get out of the harsh, noisey, aggressive, anxious car sometimes and just cruise in something comfortable.

I love my wrx but fuck me it's a struggle sometimes day in day out.

It's nice to get back in, but it's nice to get out sometimes too. Don't push it too far if it's your daily as it will become a burden, even if you think you may have street creds because you drive around on r-comps on your daily with your coilovers on full stiff.
