They sent me the wrong housing... hence the machining. Its slightly smaller turbine wheel and gtx wheel offers quicker spool on Mao's dyno compared to 1.5 xtr. I completely understand if u wanna go big name just for safety.

Im with Nick on usable power > peak power. I can give u a test drive as well.

OR HKS GT II turbo is 2600 landed from Mao. I only seen one on a stock internal evo x, 1.7 bar at 3600rpm. Craaazy spool and power.

And yes, fuck Gage.
Yep I've always wanted a Blouch, I've been talking about Blouch and Invidia since I joined this forum. Won't be getting anything 10cm, but I'm just undecided between a 1.5 or 2.5 with 8cm...apparently the 2.5 with 8cm works a treat too. Fuck zage I agree, there's many other proven options too

anyway turbo talks is going to be a later talk, all depends on what happens Tuesday with the compression/leak test...if the bottom end is 100% fine then I might just do gaskets and other mods like headers +turbo...if bottom end is getting reworked then focus is bottom end being done right

Cheers Nick, might take your offer on a spin once I figure out which way I'm heading with it

Steve at stech has a 2.5xtr in his 06 club spec. Go talk yo him and he may take you for a ride. All the guys talk very highly about that car and the lack of lag.

Blouch have a fantastic reputation in the UK. Although they are rebranded over there by Scooby Clinic. Just go onto scoobynet and do a search for the SC42 and the SC46. Plenty of very good results. Just remember any power figures quoted are flywheel bhp. But I think a bit of reading will persuade you they are very good turbos.

Cheers yeah I done plenty of research on Blouch for couple of years now - they have been and are the best stock location bolt on turbos on the market, nothing else seems to come close in that field.

Yeah the trick with the 2.5xtr is to maintain the 8cm housing... no one really needs the 10cm on the 2.5xtr unless building a dragstrip type car with a lot of supporting mods to improve spool

Or a track car where you need to rev out to 8500rpm and need more hp for straights...

Back to my original thoughts, has anyone played with valve jobs, springs or porting when doing the heads? Or is the stock heads pretty good to start with?

Hard to say with no prior experience driving or being a passenger in a car with a 8cm and then a 10cm to compare. Steves could he 10cm.
