I think pump controller controls the ground so as long as pump is not touching chassis, it will turn off.

It works exactly the same way as the OEM pump does except you bypass the variable speed of the fuel pump controller.

You simply take the positive feed that goes to the OE pump and use that as a trigger for the relay. The relay gets its power from the hardwire to the battery which then sends that to the new pump when the trigger is turned on by the OE Signal. So if your ECU stops supply to the OE pump it will stop signal to the new pumps two.

I'll be triggering all three of my pumps from the one OE pump supply. The power required to run each pump will come directly from the battery itself.

If the OE signal stops all the pumps stop.

What slows the pumps down then? I have heard that fuel gets hot in the lines if the pumps don't slow down.

ah ok. i have my pump relay triggered off the stock positive and negative to the standard pump. (basically have the relay coil 85/86 hooked up inplace of the stock pump) When i was hooking it all up i was sure it was all controlled on the negative side of the circuit.

As long as the pumps switch off if the engine stops etc. ive seen some people wire them off ign. not ideal for crash safety etc.

It's not an issue if fuel is getting returned to the main tank.

I've seen loads set up like this without issue. Only one car I know needed a fuel cooler that was on the return line but that was running one of the big aeromotive pumps and an 044 as a lift pump.

i had a fuel cooler installed on my return line. but ive just removed it from the system because with the surge pot / dead head fuel system, as im trying to do away with as much fuel plumbing as possible. less points of failure etc.

hope it wont get too hot with the 2 pumps running flatout and the extra surge pot.
