;835651']It's 3M Carbon Wrap, 2 - 3 years old and in good condition (on the surface). I am pulling the scoop and nozzles out tomorrow and might just leave it out to see how easy it is to peel up.

Gauging from that I might try to beg, borrow or buy a heat gun. Rather $80.00 on a heat gun then $300+ on a bonnet respray.
I would be happy to provide you a heat gun for the weekend. ;) just send me a pm if you're interested.

Sent from my Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Prime

Will let you know. Thanks mate. :D

As mentioned above, using heat ensures the glue comes up with it. Doesn't need much heat but enough to soften the vinyl and glue. A warm sunny day with it parked outside would suffice.

So finished a 12 hour shift at 06:00 this morning, got home, had some breakfast... And started pulling the bonnet apart  no rest for the wicked!

I left the bonnet in the morning sun for about 15 minutes before I started pulling up the edges. I them left it to sit for another 15 minutes and started to pull up the wrap. When it started to resist lifting easily I would let it sun-bake for another few minutes.

Honestly it was so easy, no issues at all. Didn't pull up and clear or paint, didn't leave a huge amount of adhesive residue. The small amounts that were left I used some degreaser to clean it off and then used soapy water to clean the degreaser off.

While I was pulling it apart I took the eyelids off because they were starting to lift on the ends, plus it looks better without them. I don't have any photos because I need to sleep :D

Wash, clay bar and polish will be done tomorrow so I can take photos of the car not covered in dust and fingerprints.

So today was a great day :D

Started with the some vinyl wrap removal and same treatment for the eyelids:

I then went to STECHNIC with Munya and picked up his VF34 P20 turbo and his unequal length headers. Will be a great replacement for the TD05 20G and the EWG set up. Response > Power is the goal of this set up. I will be installing a turbo beanie and wrapping the up pipe and down pipe to help beat the heat.

I only need the up pipe, but having the manifold gives me the option to be less Honda and more boxer.

My trusty helper was missing the whole time and suspiciously quiet... found him chilling under the AC.

So more goodies for the car. This time it is PERRIN thermal blankets, one for the turbo and another for the up pipe. The fitment of each is spot on and should hopefully fit under the stop shielding too

Only thing left to acquire which is a 3 Port EBC and the fun can begin. Also want to grab some RE003 while Bridgestone have a "buy 3, 4th is free" deal on. Unfortunately my steering racks small leak Is getting worse so a FE440 rack will be on the to-do list too.

Can't believe you're changing the turbo! Was a sick car the way it was

Bram 02-03-2016 04:01 PM

I agree with Russ. But since you are, what are you doing with the external gate and screamer setup? I might be a little interested?
