thanks!

I ordered the FP3 pads from GSL - will see how they go.
Cheap enough to test out.

Re the fuel surge thing, i read that there used to be an in-tank option around (MRT/Hyperflow) but dont seem to be made anymore. would have to fork out for the Processwest external one by the looks of it.

Also got the paperwork on the service history of the car too.
Looks like it had head-gasket issues 10,000km's ago, full replacement of gaskets and check-over, replacement timing belt and idlers etc.
Glad i didnt cop that bill.... and pretty much means i'll never need to worry about the timing belt with the low K's I do.

Looking at a Link G4+ too, around $1700 + tuning and some odds and ends like an IAT seems like pretty good value.

The hyperflow unit is a copy of the subaru spec C in tank anti surge system. If you keep your eye out on ebay you can normally pick one up for 150-200 which includes the whole fuel pump assembley, or if you are good at DIY sort of stuff you could make your own easy enough, im pretty sure Dave made one for his bug sti and put some pictures in his build thread somewhere. http://www.perth-wrx.com/vb/your-dri...es-02-sti.html

Have a look here too see what the spec c unit looks like. http://www.perth-wrx.com/vb/mechanic...-assembly.html

I wouldn't get to caught up on the fuel surge issue unless you want to be ultra competitive running less fuel for weight saving. As long as you keep the fuel topped up around 3/4 you will be fine.

thanks, will see i can snag one online somewhere.

Only reason for running lower on fuel is more to save time having to re-fuel in the pits.
I often run at no-limits nights at wanneroo and having to go refuel loses a few spots in the queue and hence track time

Looks like an interesting idea, will have to see what size may fit the subuaru fuel tank.
Anyone have an interior pic?

Took the car to the RAC track today for a tuning day, ran pretty smoothly.
Pads need replacing (already have them ready), and the street tyres couldnt cope.
Standard suspension sucks coming from a car that was so good.

However, happy with the handling balance and being able to slingshot out of corners was a nice change.

Few updates
  • decided to keep the big wing, its grown on me. Also realised its not a genuine GD STI one, looks like the GC8 shape?
  • Grimmspeed 3 port BCS - want good boost control when i retune
  • picking up a verso'd ECU from a member, this is the budget option for now as the car isnt getting any power mods for a while
  • Killer-B sump, pickup and windage tray kit is on order
  • Nitto NT05's have arrived
  • Went with Ultrex RS in 18x8 - hard to beat for the price.
These are currently getting glass coated to make them easier to keep clean

Rims should be on this weekend, then take the car to S-technic for the sump install and a general once over.

Really want some coilovers, but need to save some pennies for MCA purples, do it right the first time.

Sounds like you are keeping the modification momentum going! I was looking at the Ultrex Vipers as a spare track set, you are right about the price too. How much does the 18x8 RS rim weigh?

not sure on weight, I'll do so when I get them back from the coaters
Vipers look a bit too similar to the OEM wheels, so went for the RS

That's the reason I like the Vipers, that early GD STI style looks good on Foresters but dont fill out the guards enough for my liking.

Maybe I missed it, the wheel colour you chose?
