Using Excel to adjust fuel maps with a target AFR map

Posted 22-12-2009 at 01:26 AM by Rossco (Trials & Tribulations of Modding a version 6 STI)

I stumbled across an excellent tool to aid in the adjustment of fuel mapping on the power Fc.

It's an Excel spread sheet that allows you to drop your current fuel map, target AFR map and logged AFR's into their respective cells where by it spits out a corrected fuel map to correspond to the target afr map you have specified....

Datalogit & Wide band O2

Posted 22-12-2009 at 12:35 AM by Rossco (Trials & Tribulations of Modding a version 6 STI)

After enjoying the cars new found power & responsiveness for a couple of months........I wanted more!

Having previously tuned my own cars (predominantly Mazda rotories, both N/a & turbos) using either Microtech or Wolf ecu's, I began to look into a PC based interface to allow me to see all of the hidden settings in the Power Fc and to log things like lambda, boost, injector duty & temps for track days....and tweak my tune as I add more to the car.

Enter...

Initial PFC Tune....ASG

Posted 21-12-2009 at 11:53 PM by Rossco (Trials & Tribulations of Modding a version 6 STI)

After settling on a Power FC as my ecu of choice....I had to find one...Phizzle to the rescue!

I'm one of those people who enjoys doing all the work on their cars themselves...So after purchasing the Power Fc I proceeded to teach myself everything I could about this type of ecu......
1 week later I self installed it, removed some timing from the ignition map to safe guard against detonation and set the boost limit to 14 psi.

The car drove waay better of boost...

More POWWAHHH!

The next stage in the evolution of my car was to improve upon the factory tune.

To me the logical solution was to go with a power Fc.

Why?

The PowerFC comes with a pretty decent base map. All of the car factory functions are retained and there's no need to pay extra fees to have functions unlocked.

You can drive around on boost under 1 bar for months (with an EJ 207..NOT a 205!) before having a proper custom tune done.

Drive-ability...
