they just said "to be checked" after the items on the paperwork

they didn't say what was illegal about the wheel or pipework, it was just "do you have a permit for that aftermarket wheel mate" etc.

nothing i said was going to change the outcome, he was up there with one of the biggest cuns i've met from po po

the thing that shits me is if i took it over the pits in 10 minutes, it'd pass

and i have stock rims har har har
oh dear me

correct me if i'm wrong but the momo steering wheel centre cap should have impreza imprinted on it
if so, that's a dead giveaway that its stock item
but sometimes even if its obvious, if they want to hit you hard they can

+1 and write a complaint letter outlining all the items that were picked are factory items and the officer doesn't know the difference between a intercooler and a radiator.

I'm pretty sure the wheel cap just says MOMO .

Haven't seen the interior of mine for a while but pretty sure it just says momo on the center cap.

I've only been yellowed once in my WRX and the guy actually said to me 'by law', they have to put two items down on the ticket.

Fair and square my full atmo wasn't legal and I had it set to maximum Hot 4 Spec, funnily enough they did say the only reason why they put my tyres down was because they needed a second item 'the rubber lugs were still in the tyres '

I tried to discuss the point and the only 'repetitive response', I got out of them was 'regardless of tyre condition there may be other issues that need to be identified '.

Enjoy waiting 6hrs for a 15min check which probably yield the same response I got 'is this the same item you had on the car when you were pulled over', 'yes', 'well looks like you got another clueless wanker on an ego trip'.

Shitty thing is cops know that a yellow sticker can't be contested in a court of law, so they use it for a last resort to power trip.

Don't really see the point of writing a letter of complaint as by the time it 'and if', it sees a response your car will be deemed not roadworthy.

incoming onsite police shitstorm incoming y0!

I got pulled over recently by the po po while I was driving my tragic...but very reliable, Hyundai Excel.
I'm sure many of you are aware of a whle rash of nineties cars that for some reason had really shitty clear coats on them. And then once the clearcoat dies the paint underneath fades as well.
Yeah my car is like that, but it's pretty much A1 mechanically and never misses a beat.
Thankfully I got away without a yellow....even though he could have got me on a couple things admitedly, and it was good to see the look of shock on his face when he lifted the bonnet and everything was clearly in order.
But yeah he warned me to look after the outside of my car more as there's a good chance I'll get pulled over again.

All of this is kind of ironic considering most performance cars are much safer than my car because of the work put into them/generally good maintenace.

Yeah, with some of the shit buckets I've driven over the years, I've spent a bit of time at the pits.

Clear coat failure has nothing to do with maintenance...it's a result of incorrect painting procedure so tell him to insert it where the sun don't shine.

Quoted for Truth!

There's not much you can do about it 'besides respraying the effected area(s)', other then wet and dry the clear edges back but I wouldn't recommend this unless you know what you're doing.

Write the letter then send if off with a copy of the inspection report and a bill for the inspection and your time.

Otherwise how are they supposed to know some cops are just on ego trips and picking on people with nice cars for no real reason.

The more people complain the more they might take notice and if were lucky something even may get done eventually.
