The "crack pipe" pricing for replacement keys.

2001 Toyota, $371 for key, then cut by someone else, then programmed by Toyota for a total of $561.

A1 Automotive - $490 all up - $88 for the casing and key blank cut alone with no programming.

WTF are these guys on?

^^ HA AH LOL....Toyota ECHO $2500 for new a key, you need to replace the ECU because the ECU is not re-codeable.

Pretty much any make of remote transponder key will set you back anything upto $600.

This is the price of car theft/ security to prevent it.

Digging up the yard and finding a lot of old hoses and extension cords buried all over the place, got to love people doing things on the cheap

haha they're always there. Better them doing something to gain a bit of money IMO than bashin your grannie for cash.

I guess it's like that old adage - how does a Commodore cost as much a Ferrari?

Build it from the spare parts department.

The manufacturer sets the parts pricing not the parts guy ..... Just saying.

Cheap car = expensive parts
Expensive car = cheaper parts

Chrysler voyager door glass $1200
Porsche 911 door glass $260
