Had my silvia done about 5yrs ago in what they used to call American Limo tint. I have yet to see darker. Basically you can't see thru them at night. I voluntarily took it thru the pits to get some stuff permitted and the dude said it was the darkest shit he'd ever seen lol.

They are annoying as shit but look farking pimping. Gonna just get darkest legal for my new rex.

Mirror tint is legal but you are only allowed to put it about half way up the 2 front windows! I think as you get darker in tint the reflective properties increase as well which will keep out more heat! Tint isn't like paint which has the effect you are talking about!

i think they are saying if u have permits for darker tint , u have to have rear view mirrors fitted on your side mirrors i think!!

^^ I read it as though, you can't get a permit for darker tints on some of the old schoolers with only one mirror (on the drivers side).

But they again, I've never heard of anyone getting a permit for darker than legal tints.

Had Julian come out and do my Liberty a couple of weeks ago - managed to get an appointment within 4 days, luckily. Charged me $250 for a wagon, which included pulling off the old tint which was ruined, but came off pretty easily.
