Default Polish Comparison

So I decided the car needed polishing on the weekend, and I have several in the garage to make use of.
I thought I would give each a go and see what I thought worked best. I know everyone has their own
preferences, but thought I would give my opinion on the ones I tried.

The key things I looked at when using each of them was
1) Ease in which the polish went on, and how far a 20c sized squirt went,
2) How easily is polished off again, and how much residue it left and
3) Smoothest finish to the touch.

Firstly I washed the car with the Karcher High Pressure Cleaner and Autoglym
Bodywork Shampoo Conditioner, I then had four different polishes to try...

Autoglym Super Resin Polish
Glides on without much effort without having to use too much.
Comes off with very little effort and no residue leaving a great finish.

NuFinish Liquid Car Polish
Very similar to the Autoglym, again it glides on without much effort but
probably uses a bit more for the same amount of surface area.
Comes off with very little effort and no residue leaving a great finish.

KITTEN Cream Polishing Wax No. 1
Goes on easily enough, speads well, but takes a fair bit of effort to get it off.
Leaves a good finish but not a good as the previous two.
I went back over the areas where I used this with the Autoglym.

Meguiars Deep Crystal System Polish
Goes on easily. Spreads well. A bitch to get off cleanly.
Leaves a chalky residue everywhere. Left faint swirl marks on the paint.
Needless to say I went back over the areas where I used this with the Autoglym.

The Verdict
The Autoglym is pretty comparable to the NuFinish. Both left the car looking great.
The Kitten does a decent job, but takes a lot more work. The Meguirs is a waste of time.
I finished off with Mothers Pure Carnuba Wax which is great stuff.

Keen to hear other peoples experiences and thoughts as I am sure there a plenty of
people on here who have tried numerous other products.

Don't use ArmourAll on your dash. It contains ammonia and bleaches your dash.
Also deteriorates the vinyl.
That's what I was told by a car detailer
ArmourAll polish is also shit! Pain in the ass!
Turtle wax is much better

Swissvax Samurai FTW! (a wee bit scary @ over $200 a tub)

Results speak for themselves (hand polished):

Easy to apply, doesn't dry into a white powder, highest percentage of Carnuba wax (80%)....Buffs up super easy......Lasts 9 months on my 10year old car.

Specific polish's for different paint types.

BMW's own brand of interior cleaner is a great product for about $10

Swissvax Crystal Rock FTW!! but a bit exy at over 1K for a tub
but awesome results, the suns reflection off the car was literally blinding.

Dez form AutoFx did this work just before my shoot with Jan and I was
extremely happy with how it turned out.

I know the Swissvax is the ultimate stuff to get, but considering I polish the car at least every 3 months, I cant justify spending that sort of money just on polish.

The Autoglym set me back about $38 for a 325ml bottle, and does a pretty decent job.

Swissvax Devine is expensive, but if you owned a $600,000 Lamborghini or something similar, would you use a $20 bottle of Meguiars on it?

It's all relative
