So the wrx (my97) i just brought the right hand rear door wont open at all. I've got the door card off and there is two rods, one for the locking mechanisim and the other for the inside handle, Ive pulled the rods and pushed the door and it just aint working, Could this be a actuator problem? Is this a common problem with the my97 like it is with the ba and bf falcon?
And how the hell am i going to get the door open??

Any help would be great guys and girls as only having 3 working doors is a pain in the butt.

Does it open from outside? If so the child lock may be on.

Assuming that you know how the striker mechanism works ie top rod lock/unlock, bottom one opens, first thing I would be trying is to unplug the central locking motor as it could be working against you. Follow the rods inside the door and make sure they are connected and moving as they should. Make sure top rod is pulled forward to unlock. Not heard of one failing before. If you need one I have one here from a GX door that works fine.
