because, in order to keep your rolling diameter the same, or as close to as possible, with 19's you need to go really low profile tyres

Less cushioning = more bumps..

18's are really a happy medium, but IMO, 19's look better!

Have you priced this up yet, plus a recalibration, plus guard rolling, plus suspension incidentals?

Decent tyres aren't going to be cheap.

t'was a double entendre' also can be taken as http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=an288I3LcXo as I don't see the point of 19's on a performance vehicle

yeah 19" tyres with decent rubber will set you back at least $350 per tyre. You can get Nexen N6000's for $225 each, but they are rubbish really (Speak to Melt about her opinions of them) even tho the guys at Tech9 push them hard, and Antilag seem to bat them too. But yeah, as Marc said, guard rolling, etc to make the 19's fit, looks shit hot when done, but can be costly to get right... I'd go 18's to be safe. Tyres are a lot less, as 18's are becomming a common size.
