18's are really a happy medium, but IMO, 19's look better!
would upgrading the suspension be any help??

Pick the direction you want to go with the car Karina. Now.

Be it race, weekend warrior, cruiser, show pony, daily car, etc etc etc. Then, once you've decided this, it will start to outline the rest of the 'path'. So regarding your question about suspension, you'll know whether you want coils, lowered springs, decent dampers, whether you need sways, etc etc.

Brent.

oh
well i'd like to try out a bit of track work but otherwise its my cruiser.. i just thought that it might avoid the "bumpy ride" if the suspension was better than the basic stuff thats on it now.
Or is it wise to try the track and then go from there and whether I like it or not?

Dont know if you will get 19's under the stock strut perches. Will prob need coils.

Sigh... Freaking retarded 18" vs 19" debate...

If you're complaining about the ride of a 19" on a GD then either you've never driven a car with them, you're a grandad/grandma or you have the wrong tyres/suspension setup!

My last 3 subaru's have had 19"s and were driven daily... 1 with coilovers and the other two on lowered springs(soon to be coilovers on the current Lib) and honestly, the ride is bugger all different to the 18"s/17"s I've run in the past...

You can still have a ridiculously bumpy ride on smaller wheels with too stiff suspension or rubbish tyres...

19"s all day every day...

edit: With the right profile tyre and offset wheel, they will fit 100% fine with lowered springs and stock struts, or coilovers. Way too much internet guesswork and not enough speaking to people who actually know here!
