Possible treat rubber with something to avoid adhesion.

Mask better & remove masking before it's dry.

I've seen on NASIOC that a guy did it the old school way of masking it up then spraying it with a rattle can.

I was considering the vinyl for my car, can I ask what you didn't like about it?
