So i ended up going the distance and removing the teal green film, fiddly job but easily done,
also with the green fully removed i can replace the bulbs with any colour and it will come through fine, i think it looks better than stock some ppl might disagree. how do i post a pic of it? |

Looking at doing this to my 06 rex, but in Blue. What technique did you use to remove the green tint? Ive read afew where they get a bit of emery paper and wedge it behind the gauges and sand the film back.

Thanks for fixing my link
Quote:
1) wedged one cotton tip behind the plastic housing to separate the gauge face 2) Flatttern a cotton tip so it can easily fit behind 3) dip the cotton tip in Nail polish remover and gently rub all the green film that you want to remove 4) using a dry cotton tip clean off the area Repeating this method Slowly moving around the whole gauge (I didn't use sand paper at all) And just remember not to bump those needles at all or you'll have a broken cluster so pay close attention to your hand placement at all times Last edited by Sonic; 27-09-2012 at 10:50 AM. |

So far I've only replaced my cluster bulbs with blue L.E.D lights and looks alright except for the needles they still stay yellowish green, have to remove that green film!
