Default Converting ugly green to blue cluster

Hi guys im tired of the ugly green that lights up my cluster at night and love the red look on the new sti. So iv done a bit research and found its not to tricky to change the bulbs over to any colour i want.

Has anyone else done this? any litle tips or advice?
Also how was the finished look? in the few youtube videos i found it looked like the conversion hid the needles?

There's also heaps of videos on youtube etc.

For example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=ZeCV_tWXCpg

Just search model specific.

So after pulling apart my cluster and getting down to the gauges I found that on the 06 cluster the teal green film that actually makes the color is behind a clear casing that is apart of the needle housing. So for someone who is good with electrics could easily pull it apart and remove the film but I didn't wanna run the risk of damaging the needles so gave up on removing it.

I read on a few threads that when "red wide spread LEDs" are used in place of the original bulb the colour can over power the teal film.

So I'm on the way to the shop I'll buy some LEDs put them in and see how it looks

Apparently you have to carefully scrape and remove the film. I'll find the DIY thread when on the pc

Thanks brett,

i acutually already ordered some leds from a company in aus,
i reinstalled the cluster while waiting for my leds to arrive to find some some lights didnt work, after messing around a bit i found the solder on the circuit board where the bulb housing makes a connection is very thin and has worn just enough to make a faulty connection, so it needs some playing with to work, but a bumpy road will break connection again.

so i think resoldering the circuit is the only solution
