You've had a lot of people buy brand new hardware, shipped with Vista and had performance issues straight away. The jump in hardware requirements from XP to Vista was massive compared to previous operating systems. When Vista came out 500mb RAM was the norm, yet it's advisable to have at least 2GB min! So you can imagine how frustrating it would be for people going from a stable, quick OS such as XP to something that was significantly slower. Sure I understand if you have some old, clunky desktop then you cannot realistically expect to run Vista, but not brand new hardware.

Heh I put vista on my old 512MB laptop, ohh the pain, I can see how the people felt when this happened to them and shops were selling Vista capable machines like this.

I too would be spewing.

You could always make Vista look like XP anyways if you turn off all the fancy options.

No.

There is a 32 bit and 64 bit version of Vista. Same as the 64 bit Windows XP etc.

Twice as many bits!

For what it is worth... 32 bit can only address up to 4gb of memory, 64 bit can have 17 billion gb of memory.
