At the moment, yeah.

Remembering back, DOS/early windows was 16bit, then we moved to 32 bit and are nearing the end of that.

I would guess that Windows 7 will be the last release of a 32 bit windows operating system.

re 32 vs 64 bit - the maximum size a program can be in windows 32 is 3.4gb ish before it crashes. (tested that a few times)

I've been running windows xp64 for ages and I can tell you the first GAME to use more ram was battlefield 2 - which used 4gb with everything maxed out if you let it - so we already NEED 64bit computing, and you'd be crazy to go with anything else today.

I do more serious stuff with my pc though, next system will have 12gb at least. and my current has 8gb and im (trying) to use more than that often :P

In any case there is little reason to go with 32bit over 64bit unless your computer was so old it does not have a 64bit processor.... but all cpu's have been 64bit for a couple years now.

I installed the Beta on my mac.

I like it alot. Much better than vista. It runs a bit clunky on my VM but I did only allocate 512mb of ram to it.
