Seriously? Because I was thinking of just doing that. He reckons if a firmware upgrade comes out, it will fix itself. Is he right?

The wiimote not syncing in system menu means something is fubar big time.

You could try installing a drivekey modchip and installing a new systemmenu... But I think he has bricked it good.

Other alternative would be to get a tool that can access the nand. But I think this will all be wasted time and effort.

The wiimotes don't work, can't do anything that involves software without them. Preloader is the only thing that works with the GC controller. Its on 4.0E already. I wouldn't have got to the preloader install stage without upgrading the ios's to 4.0e. I'd have already been playing with wads and reinstalling ios's if I could controll the wadmanager software with the GC controller. I can't. All that I think we can do unless something else turns up is wait for a new software release, and find a game that has it, download it and with any luck it can upgrade the system-menu via preloader with it.

The person that is modding it, is it a friend or a "business"?
If it is a business then not your prob, he needs to replace it if he has fucked it.

A few helpful posts on there. Do your wii-motes have rechargables? It seems that can cause syncing problems.

I would think 4.1 is on Resort as part of 4.1 has the new control functionality. However if you can't get the disc to play without wii-motes you might be stuffed on that one too.
