Oh and utorrent program for torrents and get them from mininova. The review/rating system means you can check if the file is dodgy before wasting bandwidth on it.

Software mod lets you run usb loaders for hard drives.

Both techniques will let you do this.

if you can find the time for a bit of fiddling, you can install the homebrew channel on your wii which can run other programs from that site on your wii. I have a program called wiihttpdumper which serves a webpage on the wii, and you can actually download whatever is in the wii's drive as an iso. That's how i get my iso's without one of those LG drives.

the only two times i have tried to download iso's from mininova, ive received an email from my ISP telling me to stop it :/

was eftel, but it happens if one of the trackers connected to the torrent happens to be the feds or whoever. They send an email to your isp and they have to by law pass it on to you

do we have to pick a certain region when we choose the torrent.

pal is the easiest, but check the features of your modchip, it may allow you to play ntsc games. If not, there is a disc (which i think you can download)that will convert your wii to ntsc temporarily until you reboot it.

Just be careful with ntsc games with updates on them, dont let the update run. Otherwise it will make your wii ntsc permanantly
