206kw, same as the B4 ... should be more IMHO for it to be worth the 500cc increase

Yeah the 2.5 power/torque figures are not really anything to get excited about, the jdm STi has 206kw/422nm with just 2 ltrs compared to 206kw/392nm (USDM 223kw/407nm) with 2.5 ltrs and same goes for the jdm WRX 184kw/333nm to 169kw/320nm(USDM is 171kw/320nm).
I would have liked to have seen a detuned twinscoll EJ207 than the detuned EJ257 in the new STi.

I am excited about it and many others! Almost an increase of 50 NM torque over the previous model STi! The MY05 STi torque out of the box was nothing to get excited about. An improvement to be very happy about which should see the 06STi do 0-100 in approx 5.2 secs (compared to 5.5) and improved 0-400m of approx lowish to mid 13.'s.

BIG KEV I'M EXCITED

We've had a detuned JDM STi... It's called an MY02-MY05 Aus Spec STi. Hehehe 206 KW and 343NM 206KW and 392 NM will be much better, more drivable and easier to live with day by day.

i still cant see why ours is nearly 20 kw down on what the US get and they have stricter emission laws and the same fuel, really i'm not very impressed with this
