normally yes - but it is possible (& has been done) to ditch the AFM & go with MAP - needs more tuning, that's the downside.

What fred has said tode. it does require more tuning, but the results are much better.

Apparently there is a code which needs to be unlocked from the ecu or activated in some way

now im sure the pryde discussion will come up, but from where i'm sitting (my car costs less than a motec), is there any reason why you spent this sort of money on a big build up and didn't go a MoTeC ?

If the usual suspects could keep the pryde out of the thread, I just want to know if there are reasons why you think the ecutek is better in this situation

Because there are other options out there that will do the job more than adaquetly for a lot less money would be one reason.

Well thats an interesting question. Ive had ecutek for a couple of yrs now and its served its purpose fantastically. Why upgrade to another ecu when the one u have will do the same thing and ur happy with it.

The other ecus namely motec and autronic have their benefits in terms of being able to change settings on the fly (i.e without having to go back and forth from ur designated tuner). When the time comes (if) i can get myself into doing a bit of racing then this feature may be important. but until then i enjoy the off driveabilty and stock like feel of the ecutek.

Im also not into the wank factor of antilag and launch control. This car has been designed soley for purpose and function rather than bling so to speak. And ecutek serves its purpose in my situation.

I think it's.. up, down, left, left, down A then B.

I’m trying to unlock hot coffee on my Autronics but I can't find all the hidden items.

BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAH nice one!!!

If you really have a use for the functions than a full house standalone ecu will reap rewards after the sting of the initial cost.....if you want wank factor.........you could always go neons????

Tino best of luck mate it'll be a ball tearer when done. I've even weighed up the options for the porsche and low and behold it'll cop a reflash early in the new year (along with an exhaust - not bad for an extra 100hp )

yup.. u hit the nail right on the head jme.. buy wot u intend to get the full use out of. For me i couldnt justify the extra cost of shelling out for a new ecu that i wasnt goin to get the full potential out of, when the one that ive actually got will do the job no questions asked.

That and money dosent grow on trees.

Ur porsha will be looking like a ruf in no time...
