Hey just a question. Big end bearing caps. Now i notice in many big engine builds people deck the blocks for increased bottom end strength, just wondering if anyone usually gets iron or better end caps. Are they needed? Just a general question i spose for a little insight to doing big ends as it seems to be a common problem with engines being pushed, psi wise, too far.

Lookin nice Tino, it seems to be the little things (like the hose) with sean that makes people go back.

lol, there are no "caps", the 2 halves of the block go together to hold the crank and shells and complete the tunnel the crank lives in.

There is a ARP bolt kit avaliable for EJ engines....somthing rediculous like $800 dollars trade, but if you look at any of the big power builds and or talk to the engineers behide them they will tell you that there has never been a need for anything but factory bolts.

Bearing issues are more about clearances, correct sizing between bearings(different tolerance between bearings due to different expansion rates is various parts of the block I assume) and oil supply
