sounds as though the rear end maybe needs some toe in.

toe out would certainly make it behave in a similar way to what you are experiencing.

If you didn't think the trailing arms would have any impact, why did you install them?

After I drove the car, in my opinon its clearly an alignment issue in the rear end. The way the car squirms under braking and mid-corner suggests to me there is a too much toe out. I'd be getting Kerry Wade's shop to be doing the alignment, I don't think anyone else in WA would have the experience to get a good alignment out of it.

With your extra straightline speed over my car, I could still go much deeper under brakes with those awesome 6 pots than my shitter. The tyres felt fine.

Matty it should help stiffen up the rear end forward movement, but we didnt extend the arms compared to how they were set from factory, so i just couldnt see how it would unsettle the car so dramatically..

Who and where is kerry wades shop?? I may have to pay him a visit as i know he does alot of racing with GCs so would have a good idea of how to set the car up...

Looking at the vid that you were in, you did take it fairly easy compared to my runs as i know u didnt want to spin off.. hahah The brakes are unbelievable imo with no fade at all and still only running the sti pads, once i go up to a better pad the stopping will be better imo..

The car has so much potential to be very very quick imo, just need to get it setup and balanced right... Even with a shitty driver like me behind the wheel..

Tino, Matt's comments re toe seem right if the car is squirming under brakes...rear toe will also make the car nervous through corners. Basically what one tries to do with a Subaru is dial out understeer using various means...your car has maybe tipped too far the other way. You should be running zero rear toe, then about 2 deg neg camber rear and 3.5 to 4 front....KISS principle. I would strongly suggest a Wheels World alignment.
The tyres will easily come on song within 3 laps of the track...if they are DH's old ones they are probably R's, so should be spot on. The hot temp of 36 sounds about right...ie starting at about 32/30 F/R cold.
I would also recommend a couple of sessions at RAC...firstly an hour with John Fowler to fine tune the handling then a one-on-one with someone like Kim Screaigh who will help you with technique and lines. It is reasonably easy to tune your driving at RAC if you really religiously stick to the witches hats lines...like I always tell peolpe in the V8's, just go from one to the next like you're joining the dots on a drawing.
The other bit of advice is to get the handling right, then LEAVE IT ALONE (ie no add-ons, changes etc) and just drive it.

Good luck!
