Looking at heat-wrapping my dump (Sounds kinky) .. How much did this hold the temp in? Dyno run and then able to touch the dump kind of cool?

Spoke to my dude, apparenty the VF series turbo's require a different banjo bolt for oil lines - I think it's smaller than the TD04 type due to the fact this is a roller bearing turbo.

Anyone know where i can get one of these?

Go to a wrecker and get one from there

Last time I checked its not a common thing that Subaru carries.

Although, I have heard a few people just using the td04 banjo bolt on a BB VF turbo with no issues.

Cool, thanks for that Ludwig .. I'm guessing basically it's just the fact that there will be a bigger opening for more oil to *try* to flow to the turbo?

I'll ask Subaru Ozzy Park when i head out there for a few other things .. Something they'd keep on a shelf somewhere? ..

Checked on RexNet .. MSR reckons that he's taken one apart, and despite a different banjo bolt, at the end of the day it doesn't matter as there is another hole inside the turbo which leads to the bearings.

So it doesn't really matter either way .. Will ask Subaru when i head down there, if its a $10 part i'll get it.

Also thanks to Silent for getting the exhaust wrap for me.

Yes, this is true the roller bearing turbo banjo bolts have a smaller diameter, using the old one from your TD04 can damage your turbo. If you get stuck sourcing one try PMing Spikey he had some new ones awhile back.

Pic below compares the two banjo bolt types.

Left pair are the one on the turbo and right pair are the ones on the head.

Within each pair, the left is plain bearing and the right is Ball bearing.

As you can see, very little difference. And no, you wont damage your turbo running the plain bearing bolt on a ball bearing turbo.

Cool - So i take it the ones on the head stay there, no need to change those ones when going to a VF turbo?

Thanks for that image

Alrighty, went to Subary Ozzy Park this morning - They don't have Banjo Bolts .. fuckers, gonna try source them elsewhere. Pretty much ready to go other than that, STi injectors off being flow tested.

Here is the gear that i have going in before the tune.

Oh and i am getting a waterspray system too! .. STI TMIC, big scoop, waterspray, should be a decent system for a 34 i reckon.
