The Aquamist HSF-5 kit is the dux nuts of water injection kits on the market
.It has every fail safe u could want, and if thats not enough - more can be programmed into it depending on user requirements. It doesnt run comprared to boost, it squirts depending on injector pulse.

Im aware of the top mount heat soak issues, it is why iv ceramic coated the turbo and dump pipe, plus iv ordered a turbo beanie aswell. The rest of the headers/up-pipe is wrapped. I might look into covering the intercooler with reflective foil of somesort where i can.

you dont need a water injection 'system' with proper engine management, you can include water injection as part of closed loop calculation, without the bells and whistles of a external controller.

ie; running it thru auxillary or something?

Id rarther use the aquamist controller thats already programmed then let someone tune it.
And then also it has all the fail safes. Blocked nozzle, pump malfunction etc etc

What happens with those fail safes?

If say the pump died and you were giving it stick, I'd want something to kick in that will save the engine.

Whats the cost/benefit comparing a FMIC to an Aquamist/Meth injection system?

FMIC looking at about 2000-2500 for the cooler, fitting and tuning..how does the aquamist compare?

for me, honestly i didnt want the front mount anymore. so started looking at bigger tmic - then did some research and found out that really there was fkall benifit going to say a processwest tmic than a stock sti topmount. So i got a sti tmic cheap, and the aqaumist kit cost me $998 delivered.

Above all that, from the research iv done b4 purchasing the kit - inlet temps dropped way more than a fmic using water injection...

then by adding 50% methanol - the torque increases were very substantial to make water/meth worthwhile for me. I was scared about failure of the system - thats why i decided to fork out and go for the best. there are other sytems out there cheap - but dont compare.

btw - i first tryed sourcing a spec c tmic, but this proved difficult.
