worst 24 hours! READ and please help
so last night on the way home from indoor soccer i hit a pothole from roadworks that weren't sign posted etc so went to the tyre place this morning and got 2 new tyres. service was average and then they reversed the car out and there was a massive ding in the front quarter panel. i was like WTF did you do to my car, and they denied it all. so to cut a long story shorter they said if i got a quote they would "consider" it, as a "good will gesture". So they admitted to doing it without admitting it. I got onto my insurance and they said unless they actually admitt to it then i will have to pay the excess. So i then got onto the department of consumer protection and they were really nice and they told me how to go about the complaint process etc. so i'm pretty much up shitte creek without a paddle and a rather large ding in my car for my troubles. any help? any one been in the same situation?

IMO prior to taking it to any repair shop, etc, take a video recording/pictures of every panel. Make sure the pictures have the date and time display. Therefore your pretty much covered on your side.

I would've been on the phone to council first up to get your new tyres sorted. Non sign posted road works is negligent.

Fukn honkey nuts
I'd be getting that quote and getting them to fix it, no need to involve insurance companies.

docep are a joke, they can't legally help you in any way other than try and 'negotiate' an agreement, found that out the hard way. You will need to take them to court to get the matter resolved at your own cost.

Quote:
Had a puncture repair done, which was free because the nail didn’t actually puncture the tyre hmmmm dodgy!!! Free because they scratched the rim, they did own up to it straight away though (bit harder to deny scratches around wheel nuts than a dent) but stuffed me around for over month until docep was mentioned then it was sorted in 3 days! It’s worth a shot doesn’t take long to knock up a letter....but i'm with JME get onto the council for lack of signage |
