I got permits for pod, BOV, intercooler and my stock pedals...cos a cop "questioned" them once, so I didnt wanna take any further risk with them.

I had a permit for my BOV but I still got a yellow sticker for it. If you have a permit and you get a yellow sticker for the permitted item, head down to the police station of the officer who gave you the sticker, and argue it with his boss....thats what I did, and I got the sticker off.

You can have as many permits as you like, but it will never mean that you wont get any yellow stickers!

Mat: The Police are trained to send you to the pits if something on your car "seems" illegal or non-standard, and if they dont know any better, they'll send you to the pits to allow someone who does know better, to inspect your car.

Its the biggest downfall, because they can not know a thing about modified vehicles, so they'll send you to the pits for that very reason!

I have a permit for some stuff and was pulled over by hwy Patrol while lapping cott (last time i checked, cutting one lap on the speed limit ISNT a crime)...

My permit says a cone shaped airfilter (its a HKS POD, and always has been, so its round) yet i still got stickered for POD as it "isnt a cone shaped POD and maybe different" and also was told my seats are illegal. THEY ARE STANDARD SEATS. And my girlfriend wondered why i got agro.

My problem is with the huge inconsistencys that happen when people get pulled over

need to buy a bmw or mercedes and mod the hell out of that. They never seem to get pulled up even with a massive fmic dumped on its ass and oversized rims. I dont understand that.

I take it that your BOV in this case was a plumb back(aftermarket)? Coz ya aint gonna get a permit for an atmo BOV, even a "quiet" one, unless I'm mistaken .

Wowee...gotta be somethin wrong there... legal is around 90dB and decibels are an exponential measure of sound. 130dB would be more like Krakatoa going off at 5Km .

Fill that out and mail it in, you'll receive a reply about a fortnight later listing what will and wont pass and what requires an engineers stamp of approval. Doing the application and sitting down with an engineer is the best way of tackling the tech department. I did with the wagon a few years ago and had suspension, exhaust, wastegate bov (?), gauges, dogbox, raceseat etc all covered. Worth the effort if your 'serious' about it.

Dont worry I was surprised. He told me also legal limit was 100db but they allow 102db

I seriously dont think my car is that loud, I hear louder WRX's than mine ALL the time!
