i would recommend any two peice slotted front rotor (dba5k) and a slotted rear rotor (dba4k) with ferodo ds3000 pads, sure they squeek when they are freezing cold, but the friction and cold stopping power is still better then junky ds2500's

pretty much pure street, may have a few RAC days. Nothing serious though, just finding my stock brakes at the moment struggling to stop the car.

I was thinking id keep the rears how they are and get some rda slotted rotors for the front. Then ebc green pads for front + rear. Need to give brakewest a call tomorrow to get some prices. Or is ebay a better option?

How much more are the 3000's over the 2500's (may be worth the extra cash when I do upgrade the rotors/lines/fluid in the future)? thanks Shane.

I am changing my front brakes tomorrow morning. Got a near new set of slotted rotors and need to know which is left and which is right.
Also, is there any special trick/tool required for compressing the 4 pot calipers? Done plenty of single and twin pots before using a brake compressor tool I got years ago from supercheap and hoping this will still work. |

top is right, sweeps the gasses + matter away from the hub.
no special tool for 4 pots, you can do it with your bare hands, (just make sure your bottle is over full first!)

Champ. Fingers crossed I might actually be able to stop by tomorrow lunchtime.
Currently, pulling up in traffic is getting interesting. |

+1 for DS3000's. I have run them up front in my car(s) for the last 3-4 years.
Yes, they are very dusty (Ive given up cleaning my front rims) and do squeal a bit but it doesnt bother me because the car stops really well. Oh, they chew rotors a bit too. I run standard sti rotors all round, had no dramas at all, would like to fit up some braided lines sometime in my sti, had them in my old wrx and it all helps for a solid, consistent pedal feel (along with master cylinder support). So, to answer the question, I'd go oem rotors or DBA4000's and some pads considering how you use the car, how much stopping power you want/need and how much you can afford.
