LOL @ button clutch for daily use.

My 4 puck solid centre brass button clutch and 2000lb pressure plate that I had in my Series 2 RX7 lasted about a year before it destroyed the flywheel and wore down to the rivets on the clutch disk..

Why? Because you had to slip it so much to get anywhere without stalling the motor. The other option was to rev the motor and drop it at the risk of buggerising the box/diff, as well as spinning the tyres all the time.

It was pure overkill and I didn't care at the time. Also, 10 years ago I didn't have a choice as no one ever used anything in old performance Mazda rotaries apart from those. I went down to an organic full face with an uprated pressure plate, and for what I gave up in clutch performance (it did slip every now and then), I made up for in driveability.

You're an idiot if you think that sort of clutch has its place in a street driven Subaru. Get an uprated full face organic clutch and be done with it, its more than enough and has been proven time after time.

out of the box, organic clutches dont really need bedding in, they do it naturally the first time you balls up a launch!
